by Vasil KolevI’m blogging from someone else’s machine, a bit drunk. This is definitely going in to the list of bad habits…
I did some useful work today, but in the end didn’t sit to seriously write last night’s idea, and knowing how lazy am I, I’ll improvise in the moment, let’s see what happens…
The idea was provoked by Stallman’s lecture on the copyright and it’s application in our times. He explained pretty well the problems that arise from the current model of publishing music, and offered two pretty good ideas for fixing it. Because of it I also remembered a conversation how most of the bulgarian musicians are uploading their music to their sites, and leaving it there for the fans to download, without any notion of license, etc – which is probably because they have no idea about the copyright law (they’re not lawyers …). Because of this I thought of a campaign to tell the core stuff of this law to the musicians, the problems with most of the contracts with the recording companies, and the different solutions (and what’s this creative commons and how could it help them). This could fit greatly with the idea of and internet radio that plays only creative commons music, and has no problems with copyright, etc.
(I hope this is at least a bit comprehensive)
(this machine works great, I’m thinking about an upgrade)
The evening I spent mostly in a prematurely celebrating Yavor’s birthday (wooden head he is, called 15 minutes before the celebration), drinking, and configuring his debian (and I already have a normally working account here :) ). At some moment I’ll have to go home, but let’s see when will this be (at least I live nearby :) ).
There’s a serious project in the next few weeks, today I wrote a preliminary plan for work, we’ll probably clean it up tomorrow at the beer.
