by Vasil KolevNice day, I remained with a lot less money, after I paid the USP and the memory, but the weather was good, received a paper from some students (that I’ll start reading after this), and two students wrote me asking for one of the hardest themes (let’s see if they’re sure about this).
Before the adding of the new memory, there was a interesting problem with the router in Lirex, it was dropping about 95% of the packets to the machine. It then turned out that is has no problem with packets with Record-route enabled (we were looking with Gogo), and after a consultation with Delian it turned out, that RR packets don’t go through CEF, but through the main CPU… One stopping and starting of the VLAN interface fixed the problem… Cisco stuff… and after I heard Gogo say calmly, “Oh, it’s probably some cisco bug”, I almost got sick, no way this could be tolerated on any of my linux machines… Good thing that it’s not my problem:)
So marla has 768MB ram, it should have no problems in pushing 20-30Mbps. One of the sites, chise.ludost.net already has pushed more than a terabyte this month :) And we’ll see, fsa-bg.org can decide to move to marla, they won’t generate a lot of traffic, but the memory will help….
I’m off to read the paper that’s here, and I’ll probably recommend to the student to rewrite it, he has another week to the deadline…
