The UPS worked for about 59 minutes yesterday, probably because it needed one full discharge, or probably because the 4 machines were running, with the 3 monitors, and I was listening to some music … :) Tomorrow i can make another test, but I’ll stop the monitors and the sound, to see if it will last for more than an hour, to be sure that it will live through the big outages.
Coooold coooold… there are polar bears outside, and some people are taking me to a club tonight… I have no desire to go out, I hate the cold, I hate my breath to fall crystallized, my hands to freeze, etc… In short, I hate :) I’m thinking of moving my machine to my room, to work from the warm bed, but I still can’t sleep with the noise, that the box makes, and I have to think about it…
Today I dug a little on the theme for Secure Electronic mail, that I gave to some students, and found that in most cases usenix.org is something perfect for them, there are a lot of such projects/papers there… I’m thinking of making a mirror of all their pdfs and putting them on my reading list…
Last night I sat to write (on paper, it’s really relaxing) some thoughts about the chaos and order in the development of the different F(L)OS things, and looks like I reached some interesting conclusions, like that the development model isn’t chaotic, but evolutionary, e.g. the final result won’t be so much different , if you change (even a lot) the initial parameters. It will take some time to finish and put it into something that’s readable, because now it’s just 7 pages with ugly handwriting, with some sparse thoughts :)
Enough blogging, i have to send some comments to Valyak about the Install Fest in Rousse…
