Day one of OpenFest is over.

I had a hard time getting up in the early morning, and felt so asleep that I decided not to shave because of the imminent danger of killing myself. Peio and Mishinev took me to IEC, and there the fun began…

The first problem was some kind of inhuman packet loss in the local network, which made us to change a lot of cables in some places, until in the end it turned out that the 3com NICs that I used for the tagged ports weren’t working fine in this configuration, so it was good that we had one more in the router with a different chipset.
(3c905B. I should’ve come to the idea that if they’re not 3c905C, they aren’t worthy)

So I got the live feed running some time after the opening was done, after which at some point our link died (we still have no idea why) and we had to use the IEC’s one. This happened through Pentchev’s long lecture, which almost ate the lunch breaak, and at some point we were wondering if we should go there and carry him off the stage…
(To be honest, he wasnt’t that much overdue, it was just that the people before him had eaten 15 minutes from his time)

In the lunch break I decided to rest a bit, and asked Mishinev to document it – looks like a good place for an admin to rest…

In the end there weren’t too much broken things (at some point a disk controller failed), so now I have a 160GB drive full of video (a part of it being encoded in the moment, it should be done by tomorrow). It’s good that we have another such drive…

The evening was finished in Krivoto, where we made a table so long that Shopov said “We straightened Krivoto” :)
(“Krivoto” means crooked)

I’d love to shave, and after the blogging I intend to do just that, otherwise I’ll end looking like a Taliban again tomorrow.
