OpenFest is over…

The change of the daylight savings helped a lot, I managed to sleep another hour, and we started a bit later… We got normally to the hall, after which there were some fun problems – we were one camera short (Pipo came to the rescue in the last moment, although he was sick, we’re really thankful), turned out that ffserver dies when having to multiplex two different feeds, and then the output of one of the cameras couldn’t be accepted by ffmpeg, so we weren’t streaming OpenArtCon. And to cover it all the net died for a while (the power went out in Mladost district)…

So in the end I made the recordings to work, the live feed of the main stream, the Internet everywhere, after which followed the solving of all kinds of small problems – some installation, the admin of IEC had a problem with some magic around htb (damn the tc and it’s syntax, only that crazy Russian can think of something like that) and most of the other stuff I can’t remember… After all of this we got all the equipment and left (it took some time and wasn’t an easy exercise, my backpack had a hard time fitting everything in).

There were a lot of interesting events, especially coming from the people at the OpenArtCon – I can’t describe them all, but I’ll link to the photos when I get them. In the main stream the main news was that Information Services will be releasing under GPL or something like that some software for e-voting, and in the business stream there was an interesting discussion on the application of free software in the business (it’s not a bad idea to listen to it, looked like Delian took a serious part there :) ). There was also free beer from one of the sponsors, it helped a lot to live through the day.

Results: I have with me 2 160GB drives almost full with video recordings, I feeel sleepy, in Krivoto I finished myself with some beers and I’m beat. Looks like OpenFest is almost the only think that tire me so much…

And we’ll do it again next year :)

Update: I got asked what happened with my flu – it didn’t survive OpenFest…
