Last night I dreamed how the Malazan soldiers were sending mail through the desert using the Ankh-Morpork postal services… E.g. I finished reading the sixth Malazan, I’m reading Going Postal, and it’s really hot :)
(in the pile for reading right now I have The Wintersmith, Putin’s Rusia, The Gulag Archipelago (in English…), the last book by Toffler, The Cloud by Ray Hammond and at least 3-4 more. I’m falling behind.)
Tuesday Balkandji will be performing in front of NDK, defending Strandzha and the national parks there – here’s the petition.
I went to see a movie (I hadn’t gone to a cinema in an year) to see Grind House (e.g. Planet Terror and Death Proof one after the other), it’s nice to see them on the big screen, but in the end those are movies where the effects don’t matter so much :) As for the cinema itself – crappy stuff, they play some extremely poor advertisements in the beginning (the coca-cola ones look like being done by people on LSD that have gone back in the time of the LSD…), trailers that nobody cares about (the movies look like ‘the return of the grandfathers’, I’ll write in a bit on the Silver horde), and they had also cut the special trailers from Grind House. Working like this, they deserve to die.
And Grind House is worthy watching. Two really different movies, one – horror (and funny as hell), the other one a typical Tarantino movie (fills your soul)…
With the colleagues we discussed (because of the influx of the really old actors in the current movies) if we can’t assemble the Solver Horde – Arnold (playing Koen), Bruce Willis (to play Boy Willie, Clint Eastwood, Antony Hopkins, Harrison Ford, Sylvester Stalone and Kurt Russel… There can be a great movie on “The last hero” :)
