2008-07-15 Toll the Hounds

by Vasil Kolev

I just finished “Toll the Hounds” (book eight of “Malazan Book of the Fallen”) and here are some fresh impressions…

I’m not going to tell what’s happening inside, it’s really worthy reading (and they’re weird enough and will probably take two days to summarize anyway).

The book itself seems written in an even better way than the ones before. There are moments when in the end or beginning of a chapter there’s a pretty nice descriptional synopsis of what’s currently happening, which helps in keeping the story in your head. The story lines are acceptably much, and the action never stops, from page one to the end (which makes it pretty heavy to read at times). Also there’s a really good ending that wraps the story lines well.

In short – it was worthy the 12 hours it took for me to chew through it :)
