Around the problems with the laptop I finally decided to upgrade my home workstation. But instead of upgrading I directly bought a new one, and the old one will be going to replace at least for a while zver.fsa-bg.org (which has some hardware issues).

The new animal is a one quad-core i7 quad-core i7 (Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz, cache size : 8192 KB) with 6GB RAM (I can even run Vista on it :) ), two drives 750GB each (which haven’t arrived yet, so I’m using the drive from my laptop) and one nvidia 9600 (which looks enough for the moment. The rest, like case and power supply are as they should be – good :)

I should look into a new audio card (when I decide to get the new sound system with the lamp amplifier), now I’ll just be using the in-board one :)
