by Vasil KolevToday at the project we changed all the passwords (the apg program generates some incredible ones – random, but easy to remember), we cleaned up the unneeded junk from the drives, made images of all the servers, and did a test restore. The restoring itself takes about two minutes, and ten more for some commands to partition the drive, etc, which have to be scripted at some moment in the future. The security audit starts Monday, let’s see what will happen…
Another important thing is, that I finally changed my work environment, after being a few years with icewm. Now I use gnome/metacity, but still use aterm, and it turned out that everything works a lot better and faster, even though I thought that it would be the opposite. It took some time to tailor it to my taste, and there is still one minor thing to fox (alt-right_mouse_button to resize a window, because I have no middle one). The tranasparent terminal works great, just the way I like it, there’s xplanet on the background with updating clouds, it’s like heaven.
(and an extra – the clock shows the date, something really useful for me :) )
