by Vasil KolevToday I configured the first server for the hack contest – this one will be gateway… On it I tried shaping with HTB for the first time, and it turned out to be really easy, not like the horrors of CBQ. All was well, the machine was nice and fast, bud noisy as hell. And when I remember that tomorrow I’ll have another one to roar – a really noisy Itanium2 – I’m thinking about buying earplugs.
Turned out that the new Debian installer is great for network boot – it was easy with the sparc for the openfest, it turned out to be really easy with this machine too (Intel serverboard, with PXE).
There are some additions to the hack contest rules, mostly the network topology (every team and every server have their own VLAN).
I’ll sleep through the rest of the day of the students’ alcoholism. I have something good for reading – the second part of the Malazan book of the fallen – a good fantasy (Quicksilver makes me really sleepy, and is on the queue right now).
