I’m absent-minded as hell. Last night I was looking at my time-sheets at the office and turned out that I haven’t written anything for 15.02, there’s nothing in the blog, and by the logs I can seen that I’ve been in the office, done some stuff on the machines, etc.. I should really start writing each evening, while it’s all fresh in my heard, and to find a way to remind that to myself.

The cat is getting used to us, right now it’s lying on me and taking a nap (my girlfriend said that she’s becoming jealous :) ). It’s waling around, gets into weird places (so someone has to get her out).

Yesterday I fought with a piece of hardware – an isdn switch, which is used for HA (when it’s receiving heartbeat, it sends the signal to one port, if not – to the other). We had done tests with it for a while (we didn’t have a cable to control it and it has a serial port with a ps/2 connector, so we had to make one), after which we found some normal converters and decided to see how did it work with them. It refusd to power up – after some work with the screwdriver it turned out that the transformer inside was for 115 volts input (at least it hadn’t burned/caught fire). With some magic, duct tape and swearing we managed to connect 12volts directly on the board and test it (it was still getting hot). To be frank, I have no idea who make such device that’s used in Europe at such voltage (and the plug is what it’s supposed to be), but if I find the German that made it, I’ll have a word or two with him…
(and the device is just what I need – really stupid, and works on his backup function when it’s not powered).

And I became 25 years old at 23.02 (the day of the Soviet army :) ), and no need to congratulate me – I’m not celebrating it, and it’s more a holiday for my mother than for me :) But if someone needs a reason to drink – you can freely use that :)
