the kids, blah

by Vasil Kolev

This posting by Irina Marudina made me think (and get angry) again of the hypocrisy and sheepness of the people.

There’s a law that that forbids the sale of alcohol and cigarettes to people under 18 years of age. And where the hell is the purpose? We did an informal questioning in the office and of some random people and there wasn’t any one who has started his drinking after he was 18 (I know a few people who didn’t start before that, but they don’t drink at all). It’s the same with the smokers…

So, a bunch of people are trying to deny their kids the thing they did when they were minors. The same thing they keep doing. Forgetting that when you disallow a kid to do something you’re in fact pushing him/her to do it…

So enough bullshit. Let’s allow everyone to drink and smoke as much as they want (when they don’t interfere with others). After a good quantity of hangovers, arrests and some deaths the people will learn and the situation will balance itself, why should we use such artificial measures just for the show that we care for the younger generation?

(in the same principle – legalize the weed, hard drugs, put them for sale at the drug stores at their real prices – in just a few years there will be a lot of addicts and then they’ll all die. It’s called survival of the fittest.)
