So, to expand on the notes from last night…

The day began with a few talks on SIP (one of which included a lot of IAX2 too), after which there was lunch and my attending of dCAP.

The exam was in two parts, theoretical and practical. It started with the practical one, where they give you the description of the PBX for a small company with the needed features, and which you have a hour and a half to do it and then they test it. In the beginning I thought that it would take me less, but at some point I got told “okay, 5 minutes left”… In the end I managed to take it with 98%.
The theoretical one was of 140 questions for 90 minutes, multiple-choice test. For such things I usually first write the answers on a separate sheet of paper and go through them once more, so I don’t have some stupid mistake, but with so many questions (you have on average 38 seconds for a question) there was no way…
The result from the theoretical will come next week.

Afterwards there were some contests, asterisk bake-off (to setup asterisk from zero and to make a weird call) and troubleshooting – they give you a broken asterisk and you have to make it work. Because they didn’t allow you to go on both, I attended on the troubleshooting and I won :) The prize was a nokia n810.

Then we went out to drink. Got to a nice place with good steaks, ate, drank until 9-10 and then some of us went back to the hotel bar. I’ve drank 6 double shots of vodka (something like 450ml), because I wasn’t allowed to drink beer and I definitely got drunk, at some point the wife of the dutch guy who I was drinking with called and I have no idea why at some point I asked her to keep one used tampon for me to make tea from …
The morning I wanted to die, took some tome to come to my senses.
(and nobody came onto me, this seems to be the main question I get :) )

I’ll be here until Saturday, my flight is at Sunday morning, right now I’m at asterisk devcon and started to work a bit on the code who does carrier detection (app_sndrec, carriershow) and I’m thinking about submitting that to asterisk-addons.
