2009-01-29 last week

It was a fun week.

In short – the laptop again had issues and needed to be disassembled, two machines showed MCEs (machine check exceptions) and the memory of one of those went to be checked (and for two days it hasn’t shown an error), the power went out in the office a few times (and the generator of the building is on gas and we had to turn off some stuff, so we don’t go out), fun, fun, fun.

My nerves have started to give out, I’ve been getting angry because of stupid thins (like how the Ministry of the interior want to eavesdrop on Skype). It might be a good idea to stop reading news for one-two weeks.

But Sunday (after sleeping through Saturday) I went to get the ordered three volumes of Rumen Avramov’s “The Communal Capitalism” and bought some more books (including the previous two of Amos Oz, which were somewhat our of print, but some customer had ordered them and then gave up). I managed to go home with them (the backpack with the laptop and the 6 books weights a lot, my back was hurting for a while), the stack to-read isn’t getting smaller (although I try).

I managed to go through Robin Hobb’s “Fool’s errand” (nice, read it in one sitting), “Market forces” by Richard Morgan (which deserves to be written about some more), “The dreaming jewels” by Sturgeon (about which Grigor already wrote, far better than I would be able) and “The Warrior’s tale” by Allan Cole and Chris Bunch (nice, but could’ve been better).
