To begin, Neal Stephenson has a new book – Anathem, I’ve already pre-ordered it (it’s expected to be published on the 9th of September).

Today BTC were again died for about two hours – some trouble with one of their upstreams. I have no idea why they needed two hours to move a route or just to drop one or two interfaces (I don’t think they don’t have the capacity to do so). Not to mention the incredible reactions of their helpdesk, which in the written explanation told us that we have no problem whatsoever (because they ran one traceroute and saw nothing). These people aren’t right…
(not to mention the “send us a screenshot” stuff. And that’s their VIP helpdesk)

I’ve written the main notes on the Thursday’s lecture, now what’s left is to make a presentation and some schemes (I wasn’t able to draw today in the office, I wonder if Visio works under wine – if yes, I’ll buy one).

And I went back to pidgin 2.2 – in 2.4 they’ve broken ICQ (and AGAIN have fucked the interface. Idiots.).
