What a day… In the morning it turned out that two out of the five core switches of the Sofia MAN had problems, and the Bulgarian was partitioned pretty badly (through online.bg I had access just to international traffic, digsys and mobikom). With a lot of pains (and the irreplacible help of Mishinev) through some places I managed to read my mail and then to start spreading rumors about the problem. The dual head turned out to be pretty useful – on one of the monitors in the background there was a tcpdump running, one mtr to marla and on top of all an xdaliclock (which stays there by default).
(and I had ran this in a terminal: watch -n 20 -d “w3m -dump ‘http://gandalf.online.bg/cgi-bin/lg.pl?query=summary&router=217.75.128.24′” )

Peio gave me something classical from my childhood – “Kolyu gol” (“Kolyo naked”) by Valyak – a song written about their bassist Drunk Kolyo (who I’ve seen once lying on a bench in the Dobrich park, watching the morning with a blissful expression on his face).

Брех, какъв ден… Сутринта се оказа, че два от петте core switch-а на софийския MAN са се строшили, и българския net се беше нацепил бая сериозно (аз през online.bg имах достъп само до international трафик, digsys и мобиком). С бая мъки (и незаменимата помощ на Машинев) през разни места успях да си прочета пощата и след това да разпространявам слухове за проблема. Dual head-а се оказа много полезен в случая – на единия ми монитор постоянно течеше на фон tcpdump на връзката ми навън, едно mtr до marla и най-отгоре един xdaliclock (който по принцип си виси там).

Пейо ми даде нещо класическо от моето детство – “Колю гол” на Валяк – песен, писана за техния басист Пиян Колю (който веднъж съм засичал облегнат на една пейка в добричкия парк да гледа с блажено изражение утрото).

A weird day. I woke up and found out that I have to recrimp the cable in my room, the old jack had failed…

The evening we were at Nedyalkov’s, celebrating his name day – we drank, sang, I met a lot of people I haven’t seen for a long time (like Dobrikov), it was the usual party … I managed also to attend a synchronous pissing while walking, done by chervarium and desync on the way home.
(and to tell desync oyt – I saw him eating a Toblerone today :) )

Странен ден. Събудих се и открих, че трябва да си crimp-на наново кабела в стаята, стария жак беше сдал багажа…

Вечерта изкарахме в Недялков, празнувайки имен ден – пихме, пяхме, аз се видях с разни хора, с които не се бях виждал от бая време (например Добриков), изобщо нормалния купон… Успях да присъствам на синхронно пикаене в движение, изпълнено от червото и desync по пътя за вкъщи.
(и да изпортя desync – днес го видях да яде toblerone :) )

A normal calm day – we had a meeting of the council of OPF without a quorum, spoke about an interesting project, after which we went to get a meal and then to a Balkandji concert.

After I got home I watched “Freedom Downtime”, a film by Emanuel Goldstein on the campaign for freeing Kevin Mitnick and the events around him. If someone is interested, I can give it to him, it worth watching and gives some more touches to the picture of the police state that is the USA.

I also heard some rumours about the situation at online.bg (e.g. for me it’s information, but I can’t tell you where I have it from, so for you it’s rumours) – the porn was on their free hosting server and the admins themselves didn’t knew about it (it’s not easy to watch what’s the content hosted by all your users), and the hosting itself had the needed terms&conditions, so I don’t think there’s a reason to keep them arrested. They’re in the investigations’ arrest, without anyone being able to see them. I’m starting to wonder whose rating are they trying to boost with this one …

Нормален спокоен ден – направихме един управителен съвет на ФОП без кворум, изговорихме един интересен проект, след което последва хапване и замъкване на концерт на Балканджи.

След като се прибрах изгледах “Freedom Downtime”, филм на Emanuel Goldstein за кампанията за освобождаване на Кевин Митник и нещата около него. Ако някой се интересува, мога да му го дам, струва си да се види и да допълни това колко полицейска държава са щатите.

Чух и малко слухове около ситуацията в online.bg (т.е. за мен то си е информация, ама не мога да кажа отде я имам, така че за вас са слухове) – порното е било на free сървъра им и самите администратори не са знаели (не е особено лесно да следиш какво имат хилядите потребители при теб), а самия free сървър си е имал terms&conditions, така че реално причина да ги държат арестувани няма. От сряда ги държат в столичното следствие, без да допускат никой да се вижда с тях. Започвам да се чудя чии рейтинг се опитват да вдигнат с тая работа…

I’m getting crazy, for another night I’m awake at around 5 and I’m doing something. This time I did a dist-upgrade on the workstation and the laptop… I have to find a project to do, otherwise I’ll start doing while being asleep at some point.
(and at home the beans stew lasted less than 24 hours, I still have no idea how did we manage to eat all that)

I’m reading “Chevengur” by Andrey Platonov, but it’s not easy, the book is really confusing.

Побърквам се, поредна нощ съм буден около 5 и правя нещо. Този път се погрижих за dist-upgrade на работната станция и лаптопа… Трябва да си намеря някакъв проект за занимаване, че иначе ще почна да update-вам неща и на сън по някое време.
(а вкъщи боба оцеля по-малко от 24 часа, още не мога да си обясня как го изядохме)

Чета “Чевенгур” на Андрей Платонов, ама върви трудно, и самата книга е много объркваща.

Йовко е написал нещо много хубаво за представлението на Night Songs в Хамбара, който се интересува, да иде да погледне:)

In the morning we finished the beans (what a bean stew it was), and unanimously decided to make three times more the quantity of the same. It managed to fix my moot somewhat – I was woken up by the barking of some dog and the screams of desync’s girlfriend…

In the evening desync took me to his office, where we played table tennis with bu, drFranky and a co-worker of theirs – I had forgotten how nice that sport was, you can play and simultaneously speak with the person without problems… Then we went for a meal at Divaka, and then all others went to some bar to drink, and I as an old, tired and somewhat under-slept crocodile went home.

Сутринта доядохме боба (еххх, какъв боб беше), и единодушно решихме да направим още, в три пъти по-голямо количество. Успя да ми пооправи настроението – бях събуден от лая на някакво куче и виковете на любовницата на desync…

Вечерта desync ме замъкна на гости в неговия офис, където играхме тенис на маса с bu, drFranky и един техен колега – бях забравил колко приятен е тоя спорт, можеш да си играеш, да си говориш с човека спокойно… После се замъкнахме да хапнем в Дивака, откъдето другите се замъкнаха към някакъв бар да пият, а аз като стар, уморен и леко недоспал крокодил се прибрах.

Today I finally attached the second monitor to my machine, looks good :) We also made a big pot of beans, and ate half of it …

I learnt an interesting and a bit alarming piece of news – a circle for child porn trade was broken, whose servers were in Bulgaria (at online.bg). I downloaded the news video from BNT, to see what was reported – there were really ugly moments… The thing that made me wonder was that they’ve arrested the four administrators of online.bg, which seems a bit stupid to me, so tomorrow I’ll be looking into the matters and I might go visit them – I have no idea what’s their guilt.
(from the BNT information it looks like that they also liked child porn, which is not right, I know at least few of them).

Днес най-накрая си закачих втория монитор към машината, изглежда бая добре :) Направихме и една огромна тенждера страхотен боб, и омахахме половината …

Научих една интересна и неприятна новина – разбили са кръг за търговия с детска порнография, на който сървърите били в България (по-точно в online.bg). Специално си свалих новинарската емисия на БНТ, за да видя за какво става въпрос – наистина има грозни картинки… Това което ме учуди обаче е, че са прибрали четиримата администратори на online.bg, което поне на мен ми се вижда леко глупаво, та утре ще се проучва какво е станало с тях и може да им идем на гости – не виждам те каква вина носят точно за това.
(от материала на БНТ излиза, че и те са обичали детската порнография, което малко не е така, познавам поне част от тях).

I slept until 3:40, woke up because of unknown reasons, after which I upgraded at last irc.dobrich.net to use ircd-rabotx – it has better config, it’s more flexible, sweet deal…

There’s a probability that I’ll be moving marla in another datacenter today, let’s see what happens…

Спах до 3:40, събудих се по неизвестни причини, след което най-накрая смених irc.dobrich.net да работи на ircd-ratbox – по-хубава конфигурация, по-гъвкав, сладка работа…

Има някаква вероятност днес да местя marla в друг datacenter, да видим…

After an interruption because of being sick today I visited IBB – it was merry as usual, all kinds of people gathered, I was given the recording from e-Mell to see it finally, drank, well, it was the usual party :)

While returning home I went past Festivalna hall, where a Stereo MCs concert was going strong – I had the feeling that someone was trying to kick the windows from the inside, the sound outside was good… I thing the sound inside should’ve been really good :)

And speaking about concerts, next month in O!Shipka at 11th there will be a tribute to Chuck Schuldiner (which I hope will be better that the last year’s one) and Bulgara at 18th (I’ll go finally, I missed the one today at Backstage).

След прекъсване по болест днес посетих ИББ – беше весело, събрахме се всякакви типове, на мен ми дадоха записа от e-Mell най-накрая да си го изгледам, пийнахме, изобщо нормалния купон :)

Минах на връщане покрай зала Фестивална, където има концерт на Stereo MCs – имах чуството, че някой се опитва да избие прозорците, доста добре се чуваше навън, мисля, че и вътре озвучението се е получило доста добре :)

Като стана дума за концерти, следващия месец в О!Шипка на 11ти ще има tribute за Chuck Schuldiner (който се надявам да е по-добър от миналогодишния) и Булгара на 18ти (на които най-накрая смятам да ида, пропуснах днес в BackStage).

There will be a play with Tony Raijekov – at the 12th, 13th and 14th and some more days of December in Hambara from 20:30 there will be stagings of Night songs, a play they worked on a lot… The ticket is 7 lv. and is a CD with some materials from the play itself – music, video …

Да избложа Тони Райжеков – на 12, 13, 14 и някои други дни от декември в Хамбара от 20:30 ще има постановки на Night songs, една пиеса с която доста си играха … Билета е 7 лв. и представлява CD с разни материали от самото представление – музика, видео…

Today I finished reading the sixth Harry Potter, in English (turned out to be really easy to read, I have to reread the Cryptonomicon to remind myself the heavier English :) ). As a book it turned out to be the best in the series (which is weird, most of the series became worse with each following book).

In the evening I was thinking about going to a Balkandji concert (this one was important, there are some changes in the Barovsky case), but at around 21 I got a call with a (fake) alarm that someone had hacked marla, so I waited for my net connection to show up (it had died for a while) to see if there was a problem, so I missed it…

And now I’m thinking about finishing the wild stories…

Днес изчетох шестия Хари Потър, на английски (оказа се страшно лесен за четене, трябва да си препрочета Cryptonomicon-а за да си припомня по-тежкия английски :) ). Като книга се оказа най-добрата дотук от серията (което е странно, повечето други серии стават по-зле със всяка следваща книга).

Вечерта се канех да ида на концерт на Балканджи (този беше важен, има развитие около Баровски), но около 21 ми се обадиха с (фалшива) тревога, че някой е пробил marla, и аз изчаках да ми се появи net-а (който беше паднал за малко) за да проверя дали има проблем, та пропуснах…

Аз мисля да си дочета дивите разкази…
